How We Review Gear
We research product specifications, compare products on consistent criteria, and explain exactly who each product makes sense for.
What we use as sources
- Manufacturer specifications and documentation
- Official product pages
- Other reputable primary references when needed
Amazon listings are primarily affiliate destinations—not our sole factual source. Each product record stores a specification source URL and last-verified date.
How we distinguish evidence
- Manufacturer specifications — dimensions, materials, listed weight ranges, and approval claims tied to a source URL and last-verified date in our product catalog.
- Independent research — category comparisons across verified catalog attributes (price band, thickness, shape, skill tags).
- Hands-on testing — only claimed when we actually tested a paddle; we do not invent lab scores.
- Editorial judgment — who a paddle fits and who should skip it, clearly framed as recommendation logic rather than measured RPMs or power ratings.
What we do not invent
- On-court testing claims we did not perform
- Numeric attribute scores without justification
- Fabricated awards, customer sentiment, or prices presented as live
The Paddle Finder uses the same catalog attributes and documented scoring rules. If a match is weak, we send you to a buying guide instead of forcing a product.
